Pittsburgh Pirates Wake Up Call – West Coast Winning

In our daily Wake-Up Call, we get you ready for the baseball day with a complete look at all things Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are having themselves one heck of a mini road trip.

After taking two out of three against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Pirates took the first game in their three-game slate against the San Francisco Giants last night. Catch up on our TNTs from the game right here.

The club is definitely catching the Giants at the right time. The west-coast club is just 5-8 since the All Star break after setting MLB on fire during the first half. With the added bonus of not having to face Madison Bumgarner, the Pirates should definitely get greedy and leave their mark on what might be a potential Wild Card matchup.

On this episode we talked extensively about the new-look Pittsburgh Pirates rotation. Jameson Taillon and Chad Kuhl have provided a substantial shot in the arm to what was the club’s biggest weakness. That fact coupled with the slow resurgence of Andrew McCutchen has the team just one game back of a wild card spot.

All of this means one thing: it’s going to be a very exciting finish to what has been a trudging season.

The Pittsburgh Pirates versus today’s starter
