Using this post to update BBC readers on a few items of importance around the league, and around this blog. Let’s get going;

In case you didn’t notice, Vegas released the point spread for the Buckeyes game on Saturday. Ohio State is favored by 44 and a half points. Jeebus.
The over/under is 48 and a half. I assume they want us to win 45-0?

The lesser university up north has had a rough go of it lately. The early-season pattern of “feel-good moments brought on by barely escaping patsies” has given way to a series of negative stories in the news.
It started with AD Bill Martin announcing his retirement from the University, which was then followed up with Michigan declaring that they had officially been contacted by the NCAA in regards to “Practice-gate”. The NCAA has now launched their own investigation.
Martin retiring within 72 hours of the NCAA starting their investigation….no, thats not at all a coincidence. Nothing to see here, folks. Keep moving.
You’d think that the bad news for the LOLverines was contained and didn’t stretch to on-field problems, but you’d be wrong.
- Taint Forcier apparently can’t throw the ball anymore, unless they’re playing Delaware State. But against teams that have mascots that you CAN name if your life depended on it, he kinda sucks. Under 50% passing has been the norm since the Michigan State OT began.
- Meanwhile, Denard Robinson (the other all-world eeeeeeee QB) has attempted 17 total passes in games against Division 1 opponents. 11 of them have ended up being caught (7 of them by Michigan players, 4 of them by the other team). But hey, shoelaces, man!
- Center David Molk is now out for the season with a foot injury. He sat out for a spell earlier this year, and Michigan couldn’t seem to connect on a center snap very well without him. Deep breath every time shotgun formation begins from here on out.
- Somebody named BobaFett Cissoko has been kicked off the team for violating team rules. From what we’ve seen, “team rules” must include playing defense, because BobaFett wasn’t doing much of that. We’re actually sad that he’s gone. We were ready to nickname him “Toast” because he got burnt a lot.
Michigan plays Illinois this week. We expect the Wolverines to rebound for a game, but right now who knows?

Last night’s Cavs game didn’t go well. They were giving Boston 5 points, and then they gave them the game to go along with it.
As a result, our mock gambling experiment costs us 20 dollars. There’s 80 in the tank still. We’ve placed a 20-dollar “wager” on tonight’s game against Toronto. The Raptors are getting 5.5.

In the BBC Challenge, the Pac-10 is running away and hiding. They’ve shown the all-around talent, and their whole team has been strong enough to win four of the season’s first seven weeks. The Big Ten has two wins, the SEC has one, and the Big 12 is winless.
At the end of the season, we’ll advance all teams to the playoffs, and trades between teams will be allowed, but ONLY to teams from your own conference. then we’ll have the absolute best players from each respective league battle it out.
Picking between Drew Brees and Tom Brady will be tough.
We’ll do weekly updates of the BBC Challenge starting next week.

Finally, the Bob Griese saga may be complete as far as ESPN is concerned, but it’s not over on YouTube. the video I uploaded of his comments has been online for about 3 and a half days, and it’s taken nearly 50,000 hits.
Two things I’ve learned about it;
- Juan Pablo Montoya is actually Colombian, not Mexican.
- Lots of people are trying to comment on the video. the ones who whine and cry the most are the ones who keep claiming that “America whines and cries too much”. People are kinda stupid that way
