Although they may be without Joe Johnson in Game 3 due to a plantar fasciitis problem that has been building for a good part of the season thus far, tonight's meeting with the Bulls is uber-important for the Nets–who already lost home-court advantage with a Game 2 loss. They will, however, have to go into the hostile, loud, and highly-partisan United Center–also called the "Madhouse on Madison"–and shut down both the Bulls crowd and Bulls team in order to take the 2-1 lead in this opening round playoff series.
Simply put, the Nets just can't shoot as poorly tonight as they did on Monday night and still expect to win. It's nearly impossible to compete in any game, especially a playoff one, when you (as a team) hit just 19 percent of the three-pointers you take, a stat which is incredibly handcuffing given that Brooklyn took 21 threes in Game 2. Also, a sub 40-percent effort from the field is duly unacceptable, while just a single field goal from Deron Williams, this team's best player, is just mind-numbing. The Bulls are a great defensive team, but ineptitude that bad is just ridiculous.

Final Thoughts
Zoning out the crowd and winning the rebounding battle will be two of the Nets' more important objectives this evening, with the latter being a main factor in Game 2. If Brooklyn can succeed in both those goals, in addition to hitting a lot more shots, they have a real shot in this one.
