Every year, NFL teams shock fans around the league by cutting a veteran of the team. The Vikings have consistently cut 1-2 veterans after each training camp every summer. We take a look at who might be a veteran camp casualty this year.
.) Captain Munnerelyn: Captain is surprisingly the highest paid cornerback on the roster. With the addition of rookie Mackenzie Alexander – Captain could be expendable.
.) Phil Loadholdt – Phil took a huge pay cut to remain a Viking. However, Andre Smith could step up and take over the starting role. That may leave Big Phil without a job.
.) Shaun Hill – I don’t really see him being cut – but I hope he is.
.) Rhett Ellison – I believe David Morgan has a real chance of taking over Rhett’s role. I love Ellison’s ability, but his injury might have cost him a spot.
.) Travis Lewis – Travis was just signed this off season. But, the Vikings signed Emmanuel Lamur and drafted Kentrell Brothers. I also love the potential of Edmond Robinson and Brandon Watts.
