Post Game report: Bucs need to learn how to put teams away

The Bucs had the most offensive yards in the first quarter that theyve had since 1991, the last year before ANY “turn around” Bucs players arrived in Tampa Bay. But in the end, the Redskin QB who led them back was first Skins QB to throw 3TDs, 300 yds and no turnovers since Brad Johnson in 1999.

You could say it was a tale of two halves, but it was more than that…It was a case of a Bucs team that didnt know how to stop the Redskin’s momentum built up during a good drive after the Bucs scoop n Score made it 24-0.

Of course Bucs fans, the drama, oh the drama that we are, are convinced by now the sky is falling on Buc universe. Several teams took big leads in their games today, the majority of which were mature (or good) enough to survive the comeback attempts.

While the Tennessee Titans have benched Marcus Mariota, Jameis WInston improves each week to the tune of 21 of 29, 297 yards, 2 TD and 0 Interceptions. Thats with the Bucs losing half of their dressed wide receivers as VIncent Jackson and Louis Murphy were lost from the Game, leaving only Mike Evans and Donte Dye, who scored his own first TD on his first reception as a pro.

The Bucs problem is two fold: the defense is a mixture of promising linemen but no talent in the secondary. Also, there is this youth movement that players need to grow up fast. The Bucs beat themselves once again this week, they allowed a mediocre Redskins team to get back into a game the Bucs controlled, and lost their cool in the process.  Way too many penalties helped the Redskins along in their game.

The Bucs are 2-4 now, with at least 2 very VERY winnable games over the Skins and Texans.
