Following the Nittany Lions’ fourth bowl practice before their January 2nd clash against the Houston Cougars, starting quarterback Matt McGloin and wide receiver Curtis Drake were caught in a scuffle that sent McGloin to the hospital for a “possible seizure.”
It appears the incident took place after the two players had been jawing at each other throughout today’s practice. Some have reported that Drake approached McGloin after the practice to apologize, but McGloin met him with a push. Drake responded with a punch that left McGloin on the ground.
NLD has not been able to confirm exactly what the disagreement was about. Since the incident, McGloin’s twitter account has said, “This behavior should not be tolerated, and I will accept any punishment handed down to me.” However, it should be added that his account had been hacked following the incident.
NittanyLionsDen.com will update this story if more comes out.
Update (7:45 PM, December 17th): It not appears that all tweets from McGloin’s Twitter account, including the one above, were written by a hacker and not McGloin. His account has since been deleted.
