WARRIORS PRACTICE FACILITY, OAKLAND, CA — Several members of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, in town to face the Oakland Athletics, stopped by to watch the Golden State Warriors shoot around after practice yesterday.

After assistant coach Luke Walton (subbing for head coach Steve Kerr, who was at a doctor’s appointment), Andrew Bogut, Draymond Green and Stephen Curry did interviews with media, Green and Curry played a little game of P-I-G, which is a shorter version of H-O-R-S-E, where you have to copy the shot of someone ahead of you if he makes it, and you earn a letter if you don’t make it. So, you get eliminated if you spell out “P-I-G”.

Green was up first against Albert Pujols, Mike Trout, and relief pitcher Joe Smith, then got knocked out on a three-pointer by Trout:

“I’m not very good at shooting games. I can shoot in the games, but I’m not good at shooting games. It’s cool though. It’s fun,” said Green. “My pride got hurt.

After Curry was done with media, he stepped out and faced the Angels as well. He knocked out Trout and Pujols, and even had Smith on the ropes with a vintage shot from half-court:

The shot from behind the backcourt went awry for Curry, then Smith got him back with a backwards over-the-head toss from the free throw line.

Eventually, Smith threw out his trump card: a left-handed three-pointer from the top of the arc. Smith had gone to his ace-in-the-hole lefty on more than one occasion on this day, and it worked again:

After Smith swished the lefty, Curry wasn’t close in his response:

The NBA’s Most Valuable Player screamed in joyful defeat, as he often does when he loses shooting games, and enjoyed a chat after that with his Angel competitors.

No telling when the rematch will be for Curry, but rest assured, there will probably be a rematch.
