CBS Sports dropped the Rangers nine spots to #22 in their most recent power rankings…
22. Rangers – The Rangers didn’t win a game in Europe but did manage to secure two points because their losses came in overtime and during a shootout. Thank goodness for the charity point. Henrik Lundqvist is a pretty big reason they were even able to get the two points.
ESPN.com (17) and The Hockey News (23) also released their power rankings.
…i think it’s comical that the Rangers are being criticized for only taking two of four points against two of the best teams in the Western Conference. Yes, Hank was a big reason they got the points, but the last time I checked he was on the team and this is a team sport. Not sure why having a great is a negative.
…having said that, lots of things for the Blueshirts improve on. Most notably the power play.
