Practice Notes: Injured Practice; No Conditioning for Wolski; Lines; Dolan

Pat Leonard at the Daily News reports that all three injured defensemen Michael Sauer (concussion), Steve Eminger (shoulder) and Jeff Woywitka (foot) skated in non-contact orange jerseys today. Still no time table on Sauer and Eminger.

Leonard also reports these lines from practice…

Hagelin-Stepan-Gaborik
Dubinsky-Richards-Prust
Fedotenko-Boyle-Callahan
Mitchell-Anisimov-Rupp

Regarding the line changes, Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record reports that John Tortorella thinks Callahan with Richards and Dubinsky is a little stale right now and wants to try Prust with Richards-Dubinsky.

…it may be getting stale but I’d like to see Torts let them fight through it. Not really sure what Prust brings to that line. Definitely not scoring.

Gross adds that the Rangers don’t want to send Wojtek Wolski on conditioning assignment right now because of nicks and bruises to some forwards.

…guess the Whale trainers can empty their tub.

Finally, Leonard has Tortorella’s reaction to James Dolan’s thoughts from last night…

“Mr. Dolan, Glen, the coaching staff, we’re always communicating as far as what’s going on with the team,” Tortorella said. “We’re all in it together. I think he expressed last night he likes where it’s going, and that’s a good thing. That’s a good thing. And he totally understands also that it is a process, and that’s the biggest thing, is going through the process.

“And why we’re here where we’re at right now – and again, it’s 44 games is it now, so 82 minus 44 we have 38 – he totally understands and we understand that the process is the most important thing. But I liked his emotion last night as far as being with us and supporting us, and he’s part of that. We communicate all the time.”

…always a good thing when the owner and head coach are on the same page. And while Torts called Dolan’s comments B.S. last night, there was also a little friendly banter between the two which is a good thing.
