Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record reports that John Tortorella changed up the lines at practice today…
Hagelin-Richards-Gaborik
Anisimov-Stepan-Callahan
Dubinsky-Boyle-Fedotenko
Rupp-Mitchell-Prust/Scott
Steve Eminger (ankle) did not skate again.
…shocked to see Torts changing up the lines after a loss. That never happens.
…in all seriousness, I actually like Boyle back on the third line. While he has stepped up his game in recent weeks, sometimes when you move a player up in the line-up he’s not as effective. Boyle really is nothing more than a third line center.
Speaking of Boyle, Gross also reports that Boyle was named the winner of this season’s John Halligan Good Guy Award for the Rangers as voted upon by the media.
Finally, the Rangers tweet this quote from Tortorella on facing the Flyers, Penguins and Capitals to close out the season…
“we have a tough (final) week here..that’s a good thing for our team…best way to prepare for the playoffs”
…that’s a great point by Torts. All three should be intense games to give the team a nice final tune-up before the playoffs.
