Practice Notes: No Sauer, Girardi, Gabby; EC Back; Torts Happy With Practice

Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record reports that Marian Gaborik and Dan Girardi were given the day off to rest after yesterday’s All Star game, however Henrik Lundqvist did practice.

…makes sense Hank didn’t need to rest today because it’s not like he exerted any energy just watching pucks fly past him this weekend. I kid Hank, I kid.

Mike Sauer (concussion) also did not practice as he has been shutdown since his setback last week (via Pat Leonard).

…this is looking more and more like Staal by the day.

Here were the lines with Erik Christensen, who says he realizes there’s no spots for him in the line-up, back from his conditioning stint in Hartford…

Hagelin-Stepan-Wolski
Dubinsky-Richards-Callahan
Fedotenko-Boyle-Prust
Rupp-Anisimov-Mitchell/Christensen

…with Gabby obviously going back to his spot on the top line, I’m actually a big fan of these lines.

Jeff Woywitka (foot) and Steve Eminger (shoulder) practiced today.

Eminger says his shoulder is at 85% (via Rangers Twitter).

Gross adds that John Tortorella says practice was so good today, he wanted to stop it after 20 minutes and “bottle it.”

…guys must have been chomping at the bit to get going again.
