VOORHEES – The hype trains consisting of Ivan Provorov and Travis Konecny are continuing to get more and more fuel.
Following the Flyers overtime win over the New York Rangers on Monday, a few members of the team dished out some high praise for their fellow 19-year-old teammates.

“He’s got great poise back there,” Steve Mason said in regards to Ivan Provorov. “He’s still got some work to be done. I think he’s pushed himself both on and off the ice, he’s come in and worked hard.”

Mason says the rest of the team is “excited” to see what happens with Provorov .

Likewise, there’s a growing sense that Travis Konecny is getting closer and closer each day. Claude Giroux saw firsthand what the young forward can do when the two worked together on the top line.

The captain points out Konecny’s aggressiveness as being his best attribute.

“He is not scared of going to the net,” Giroux said. “He wins a lot of battles. He is definitely fun to play with.”

Receiving that type of complement from the leader of the team has to bode well for Konecny, right?

But wait, there’s more.

Jake Voracek put the ribbon on top when giving his thoughts on the junior-eligible prospects.

“It’s very impressive,” Voracek said. “Konecny, the way he works, Provorov, the way he handles the puck, look at Morin, I think he had a great game he was a beast, he’s strong, he’s good with his stick, and obviously it’s good for the team, it’s great to see them play like that.”
