Every so often, something comes along to put football in its proper perspective. With the recent 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Haiti having caused extensive damage and injuries, it is time to take a moment to reflect.
San Francisco 49er Ricky Jean-Francois and Colts wide receiver Pierre Garcon are both concerned about immediate family members whom they have not been able to make contact with. This has to take the luster off of the breakout season the second year receiver was having, and has to distract from his preparations for the coming game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Beyond the concerns of Haitian-Americans, the country has just been devastated. There has been nowhere near an official count of fatalities, but it is believed to be in the hundreds of thousands.
