The Rundown

3-6-3 over the last 12 games. The 5th worst team in score adjusted Corsi thus far in the month of November at 45.9%. A team that has not averaged over 50 CF/60 in a 5 game span since the 6th game of the season. What more needs to be said? Things have not been pretty of late for the Panthers.

However, it looks like the Panthers are making significant changes following Monday’s loss to the Kings. Rocco Grimaldi and Garrett Wilson have been sent back to Portland. Coming back are Connor Brickley and Logan Shaw, both whom will be in the lineup tonight.

Speaking of the lineup, Gerard Gallant is making his most dramatic adjustment of the season tonight. We will have three brand new defensive pairings tonight, featuring Erik Gudbranson with Brian Campbell, and Aaron Ekblad on the left side with Steven Kampfer. Likewise, we will see Jonathan Huberdeau move to the Bjugstad line, with Brandon Pirri taking Huberdeau’s previous spot to Sasha Barkov’s left. Logan Shaw will be on the third line, and we’ll see a reunion of the Brickley-MacKenzie-Howden line that looked so effective in training camp and early on in the season.

Tonight, its our first look at the New York Islanders. The Isles are currently in the thick of the Wild Card Race. They are tied with Detroit and Tampa Bay with 25 points. The big story with the Isles, however, is the trade request of one Travis Hamonic. He is second among Islander defensemen in scoring with six points, and leads with a 53.7% score adjusted CF%. Hamonic wishes to be traded to a team out West, presumably to be closer to his family. However, it does not appear urgent, and that he is willing to wait it out until the Islanders find the right deal for both team and player.

Aside from that, John Tavares is amazing as usual, leading the Islanders in scoring with 20 points. Kyle Okposo is just a point back as well, and leads the team in assists with 14. In all, seven Islanders have cracked the 10 point barrier.

Closing Thoughts
