Pre-Game Skate: Preseason – Florida Panthers @ Dallas Stars (9/27/15)

NIU

Tonight marks the final road game of the 2015 Pre-Season for the Florida Panthers as we see them travel to Dallas to take on the Stars. It will be the second time these teams face off this preseason, the first time coming in a 3-2 Panthers win at BB&T Center this past Tuesday night.

The Rundown

The Dallas Stars cut 17 players from their Camp this afternoon. Among the cuts was former Panthers farmhand Jesse Blacker, released by the Panthers this summer after not being extended a qualifying offer. He was in Dallas’ Camp on a PTO. Blacker had spent part of last season at San Antonio after being acquired from Anaheim for Colby Robak.

The Stars are coming off a 6-3 victory last night over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Tyler Seguin + Patrick Sharp played on the same line and combined for 3 goals and 2 assists. The Panthers will face neither player tonight though. Among the notable Stars in the lineup tonight are: forwards Jason Spezza and Valeri Nichushkin, defenseman Johnny Oduya, and goaltender Kari Lehtonen. See the full lineup below:

The Panthers on the other hand are yet to release a lineup for tonight. We’ll be back with thoughts once that becomes known.

UPDATE: We now have a roster for the Panthers, courtesy of the Sun-Sentinel’s Harvey Fialkov

Yeah, this is a pretty good looking roster, much better than the one Dallas is icing tonight. We have the Huberdeau-Barkov-Jagr line, so I think we can expect some level of dominance there. We have Reilly Smith making an appearance. David Booth is getting a chance to make his case to stay over Martin Havlat tonight. Interested in seeing where Connor Brickley lines up too. Maybe with Dave Bolland and Derek MacKenzie? Very interested to see where Lawson Crouse falls as well.

Overall, should be a fun one to listen to tonight.
