Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas the world will be watching the pound for pound King of The Ring. He is Manny Pacquiao, the greatest boxer in Philippine history and the man feared by most boxers, especially Floyd Mayweather. Although most will not agree, this is a fact. The true test of a boxer is to fight all comers, and that is what Manny Pacquiao does, regardless of size, weight, skill or reputation. He has no ridiculous excuses or rules to apply that have never been heard of in boxing. That is why he is fighting Sugar Shane Mosley, the man who almost knocked out Mayweather, and unfortunately was not able to finish the job.
Mosley will take on the man that Mayweather fears and hopes that time or injury will slow down. But that plan is not working, and Pacquiao is getting better, not worse. But this fight is not about the aforementioned, it is about Pacquiao, the eight-division champion of the world. He will be defending his WBO Welterweight crown against the former three-time champion, Sugar Shane Mosley. A man who recently dispatched of Sergio Mora, previously lost to Miguel Cotto, went the distance with Mayweather, but more importantly knocked out Antonio Margarito in the ninth.
But on the other hand, Pacquiao has beaten Marco Antonio Barrera (twice, once by knockout), Juan Manuel Marquez (twice, by decision), and won two out of three matches against Erik Morales, including knocking Morales out in their last two fights. In his last five matches he has beaten Oscar DeLaHoya, Rickey Hatton, Miguel Cotto, Joshua Clottey, and most recently, Antonio Margarito for the WBC Middleweight Title of the world.
As you can see, these are two fighters that take on the best and have no excuses to get into the ring. Although Mosley is seven years older than the Pacman, don’t let that fool you. His experience and skill in the ring makes up for most of those years. Although Mosley has fought some of the best fighters in the world, he has never experienced the extraordinarily dimensional Pacman; fighter that will come at you with both hands and more importantly every angle. In addition, the Pacman is coming into this fight after having a great training camp and with the mindset of not being overconfident. He also is a man who physically appears to never tire. And that will make the difference. Pacman by knockout in the eleventh.
