Carbon fiber helmets, green jerseys, green pants is the uniform of the day, rain jackets optional.
Oregon received their notice of inquiry from the NCAA, which only confirms what everybody already knew, that the NCAA is investigation Oregon’s recruiting practice. Athletic Director Rob Mullens called it the next step in the process. The NEXT step is a notice of allegations, then a possible penalty. No one knows how long it will take; some of this summer’s investigations took two years.
Oregon’s young players should get significant time today in the second half. It’s their last chance to make an impression and make the travel squad, show they can be part of the rotation. Hope to see Colt Lyerla and De’Anthony Thomas show they’re ready to make an impact in PAC-12 play, earn a bigger role in the rotation going forward. Ducks need some depth at linebacker and more reliability from their offensive line.
Please use the space below for your pregame observations. I’ll be checking in periodically and tweeting throughout the afternoon. Will have a second half live blog and a post game breakdown.
Some big games around the country, including Washington at Nebraska, Stanford at Arizona, and #1 Oklahoma at #5 FSU.
