Pregame notes: Fuel players on former Spur Hill

BROWNSVILLE, TX – In just under an hour, several spectators in Brownsville will have a chance to see first hand what San Antonio Spurs fans have seen the past few years in former Spur George Hill.

Hill is playing in a pair of exhibition games this weekend here in Brownsville with the San Antonio-based Texas Fuel of the ABA.

While the people entering Manuel Garza Gym at the University of Brownsville may be in for a show, so are the players he will be sharing the court with.

Paul Garcia and I decided to make the trek down to the valley to cover the games, which gave us a closer look at some of the Fuel players, who have been very complimentary of the former Spurs guard.

DeAndre Hall, a 6-6 shooting guard out of Pontiac Michigan said he and his teammates learned so much from Hill in their one practice session with him yesterday.

“We learned so much from him and he helped us with our game,” Hall said.

Several of the other Fuel players said they were inspired by Hill’s work ethic and are excited at the opportunity to play and learn from him this weekend.

Be sure to come back to Project Spurs later tonight for full game coverage.
