ORACLE ARENA, OAKLAND, CA — After a five-day break, the Golden State Warriors are set to take the floor tonight against the Utah Jazz.

Here are the sights and sounds from #Roaracle…

It’s Filipino Heritage Night and the special events began with the Filipino food trucks in Lot A.

Back inside Oracle, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr announced that David Lee would be evaluated after the game. Originally on Wednesday, it was announced that he would be evaluated Thursday. When Thursday came around, that got pushed back to game time. Here at game time, it’s been pushed back to afterwards.

The remainder of the pre-game press conference with Kerr involved questions about the progression of the Warriors. Kerr pointed to the team’s execution as paramount to their success, as well as the defense.

“Our defense has been a constant for us so it’s keeping us in every game,” Kerr said.

When asked by a Salt Lake City reporter what Kerr’s noticed about the Jazz, Kerr responded, “We’re actually running a lot of the same stuff. Probably from our San Antonio roots.”

Kerr was also asked by a national NBA reporter about LeBron James, as James approaches his 30th birthday. Kerr pointed to James winning his first championship, as has been the case with other great players such as Michael Jordan, as the thing that allows the great players to get that proverbial monkey off their back and just play.

There was yet another Chicago Bulls reference as Kerr was asked about the gradual return of Festus Ezeli. Kerr recalled how Bulls center Luc Longley used to say that coming back from an injury for a big man was like “swimming with seals”, and described Ezeli’s return as similar.

Kerr was also asked if the participation on Team USA had helped Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Kerr replied by saying Curry and Thompson were well ahead of the curve when they both came into training camp.

In other news, we also noticed that Courtside Club, the downstairs bar/lounge, got a new name: BMW Club. We then walked by and headed to the court, where we saw Curry shooting around, then practicing getting bumped on defense by assistant coach Bruce Fraser.
