Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers confirmed today that Kevin Garnett will go out on the floor for an introduction at Target Center before the starters are announced. Garnett is sure to receive a standing ovation from the fans in his first game here since he was traded last summer to Boston.
“The bottom line is we didn’t know what they were going to do,” Rivers said. “I think it’s really classy that they’re doing something. I didn’t know that (Wolves vice president) Kevin McHale had that much class, so I’m impressed. I’m joking. It’s really nice. I think it’s really a nice gesture by Kevin and Glen (Taylor, owner) and the entire organization because he’s done a lot obviously for the team and for the city.”
In their latest podcast, Skeets and Tas at The Basketball Jones talk about Garnett’s return to the Target Center.
