The Patriots now are facing the Chiefs, which is the start of the playoffs for Brady and Belichick.

The keys for the Patriots to wrap up KC are first to control how KC operates the defense. LB Justin Houston, who has been dealing with a knee injury suffered a few weeks ago. Now the injury reports (ESPN) for the Chiefs show the following, Maclin/A.Wilson/S.Ware/ T.Hali and Houston are all 50/50 and questionable. This is a major factor for the Patriots, who are also decimated with injuries. They target the weaknesses and for this game, if both KC all pro linebackers don’t play, that’s a huge advantage for New England. Hali and Houston have combined for 14 sacks this year and losing your two primary edge rushers is not good for the chiefs. NT Dontari Poe now has more weight lifted on his shoulders and needs to be the guy to stuff the rush and try to intimidate Brady (That never happens just saying).

The Patriots are fighting, and fighting hard. Brady is giving his all as he does each and every week and against KC. With RB James White and RB Steven Jackson ready for carries and pitches, the newly looked Pats ( which is every week basically) are trying to establish a firm running game while trying to move down the field with the deep threat receivers and quick short route players. Keshawn Martin will be an important asset along with hopeful comeback of Julian Edelman.

NESN reported the following interview and Belichick said this during his press conference.

“We prepare the same every week,” Belichick said. “We prepare to face the team that we face. We can’t control what their record was or wasn’t — 0-12, 12-0, 15-0. We don’t have any control over that. All we can control is the team that we play and our performance against that team. So that’s what we try to do. We try to prepare our team to play against our opponent. We don’t worry about their record, what it was or wasn’t. We don’t worry about how many yards they gained or didn’t gain. We try to prepare our team to play the opponent that we’re playing — this week, Kansas City. It’s the same way we do against every other team that we face. It’s really not that hard.”
