So for one final time we look at the roster. From what we can tell, there are 35 “roster locks” that will no doubt make the team.
Beyond these 35, there are 18 spots that are up for grabs tonight. The numbers following the position are the position they are competing for. For example, “QB2” would be the backup QB job. Players are more or less listed in the approximate place on the depth chart, based on where they’ve played so far this preseason. The players competing for these spots are:
OL(entire 2nd string): Doug Legursky (C), Kraig Urbik (G), Jeremey Parquet (G/T), Jason Capizzi (G/T), Ramon Foster (G/T), Tony Hills (T), A.Q. Shipley (C)
CB4: Keenan Lewis, Anthony Madison, Joe Burnett, Keiwann Ratliff, Roy Lewis (note: the Steelers may choose to keep 5 CBs and 3 safeties, in the hopes that one of their corners can fill a back-up safety role.)
Stefan Logan (KR/PR) — Logan has a chance to steal someone’s roster spot by being explosive once again on special teams. He has been great in two games so far, and the Steelers are looking for one last performance out of him tonight. Unlike Joe Burnett, he has a steady grip on the ball, and having him back there would give Mike Wallace the freedom to work on learning the offensive playbook.
Ian will be at Karaoke night at Hough’s in Greenfield watching the game and making a fool out of himself.
