One thing I always get excited about for preseason football; what is the first play going to be? It usually sets the tone for the year, at least I used to think so. Going way back, I remember 1985 the first year under Leeman Bennett, the Bucs came out and threw a 70 yard TD pass to Kevin House, then the D got the ball back on a forced turnover on the first play for the Steelers, and the second offensive play was a TD from Steve Deberg to Jerry Bell! Two Plays, two TDs! The Bucs won two games that year! …and the next. Todays Video of the Day shows the first play of the 2002 SuperBowl season, a Kick Off return for a TD, which is pretty funny because the last play for the Bucs of the year was a TD return too! Dwight Smith’s return for a TD in the Super Bowl out in San Diego! Last year, Luke McCown threw the ball out to the sidelines where the receiver had run past it. Kinda sums up 2009 huh? Incomplete, and mis-communication. Lets hope tonight goes a little better!
