Three things to ponder

1. A lack of Ray McCallum

McCallum has made one appearance in three preseason games, a three-and-a-half minute blip which showcased an offensive foul. As Darren Collison and Ramon Sessions hoard playing time, McCallum’s absence begs the question if Michael Malone isn’t pleased with what he sees in the second-year guard at practice.

2. Omri Casspi’s role

At the moment Malone is using Casspi as the first forward off the bench. Casspi is shooting only 36.8 percent from the floor and is 0-of-6 from 3, but his activity and willingness to drive and draw fouls could be what earns him a rotation spot ahead of Derrick Williams and his 33.3 percent field goal accuracy.

3. Time for Ryan Hollins

After playing nine minutes in the previous contests, Hollins logged 12 on Saturday and looked like a difference-maker. The center scored eight points on 4-of-4 shooting, collected eight rebounds and landed two blocks. A performance like such deserves an even more ample serving of floor time Wednesday.
