Ordinarily in a back-to-back, home-and-away situation, the home team usually wins. But in the case of the Pacers, they’ll have to try their darndest to reverse that trend, considering they already lost the first one at Conseco Fieldhouse.
Tonight, the Pacers travel to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers in the hope that they can get one back after losing to them a couple of nights earlier at home. It was a game the 15-29 Pacers could have won and should have. The loss allowed the 76ers to leapfrog them in the standings.
Now, I don’t know if this is serious or if the Pacers are up to their usual propaganda again, but the Indystar reports that the Pacers believe they can still make the playoffs, even with their despicable record.
For their sake, I hope they are right. At least Earl Watson makes a good point here (one that everyone already knows):
“Winning on the road: That’s going to be key for this team. Our road record has been getting better, but it’s not where it needs to be and you have to win on the road to get to the playoffs in addition to taking care of home, too.”
Brandon Rush, who has recently upped his intensity on the court, appears to also have upped it off the court:
“We’ve got to stay consistent on both ends of the court. On some nights, we play better on offense. Some nights we’re better on defense, but we have to be more consistent. That’s coming focused with the mind-set that we have to play our type of game, getting up and down the floor and defending.”
Well, let’s just hope they canback up the talk for once!
