Game Notes

  • Andrew Bogut shoots flat-footed short bankers while Festus Ezeli shoots FTs.” — Poor Man’s Commish, LetsGoWarriors (12/30/2014, 11:02AM)
  • “Kerr says Festus Ezeli didn’t practice today and will not play tomorrow.” — Poor Man’s Commish (12/29/2014, 12:46PM)
  • “Neither Andrew Bogut or Festus Ezeli practiced today, and both will miss tomorrow’s game vs. Philadelphia.” — Rusty Simmons, San Francisco Chronicle (12/29/2014, 12:46PM)
  • “Nerlens Noel will play tonight against the #GoldenState #Warriors.” — Keith Pompey, Philadelphia Inquirer (12/30/2014, 11:00AM)
  • “Nerlens Noel and Robert Covington probable, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute doubtful for the 76ers.” — Diamond Leung, Bay Area News Group (12/29/2014, 12:23PM)
  • “Warriors 11-1 at home on the season, their best start at home since posting a 12-0 mark in 1975-76 as the defending NBA champs.” — Warriors PR
  • “Warriors (have won nine) straight at home, their most consecutive home victories since a 10-game stretch in 1994.” — Warriors PR
  • “‘The question is, can we convert that message into our habits?’ Kerr said. ‘Because I’m convinced it’s four or five careless plays a game that would keep us back, would keep us from getting where we need to get. We’ve eliminated those at times this year, but not on a consistent basis.’

Center Festus Ezeli will miss his third straight game because of a sprained left ankle after not practicing on the eve of the Philadelphia game. Ezeli’s absence comes at a time when starting center Andrew Bogut (knee) has not yet returned to limited practice. Sixers center Hollis Thompson (upper respiratory infection) is out, and coach Brett Brown told reporters that forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (calf) will miss the game as well. Nerlens Noel (ankle) is probable.” — Leung

  • “Philadelphia has some intriguing young players in 2013-14 Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams, rookies Nerlens Noel and K.J. McDaniels and injured Joel Embiid, the No. 3 overall pick in June. But they’re not exactly surrounded by the league’s best talent.

In fact, when Ronald Roberts was signed Dec. 12, he became the 11th undrafted player to be part of the 76ers’ roster this season. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, that’s a record for undrafted players on a team’s roster over the course of a single season — a mark previously shared by the 10 undrafted players on the 2002-03 Atlanta Hawks and 2009-10 Warriors.

Philadelphia has had some close games, including a heartbreaking overtime loss to Western Conference power Memphis on Dec. 13, but many of its games have been blowouts. The 76ers have lost by double digits 17 times — after doing so 46 times in 2013-14 — and on Nov. 13 they lost by 53 in Dallas.” — Simmons

    • “‘I know one thing: [The 76ers] lead the NBA in steals,’ guard Klay Thompson said. ‘And with our turnover problem . . . that’s probably the only big problem we face with them.'” — Monte Poole, CSN Bay Area
