Golden State (3-0) hasn’t started a season this well since 1994-95 when they started the season 5-0 and two-time All-Star David Lee hasn’t yet made his season debut due to a hamstring injury.

Lee strengthens a rotation that looks a little different from last season, with Draymond Green starting at power forward through three games and Harrison Barnes taking over the starting small forward role so Andre Iguodala can command the Warriors bench unit.

“It says a lot about the guys we have on this team from top to bottom that no matter what situation you’re thrown into that you can somehow produce and allow things to happen,” guard Stephen Curry said.

Golden State has been led by Curry and Klay Thompson in their first three wins, with Thompson stepping forward as a bonafide star, averaging 29.7 points in addition to hitting the go-ahead basket in the final minute against the Portland Trailblazers

“It’s a tandem that’s playing both ends of the floor,” Kerr said of his guard duo. “That’s exciting.”

Golden State has also been strong on the defensive end, allowing opponents just 39.5 shooting from the field, while the Clippers have struggled defensive, allowing 47.9 percent.

Over the past two seasons, this has been a physical rivalry that has resulted in a handful of ejections and number of altercations, and the Clippers quarterfinal playoff defeat of the Warriors in 7 games last year should only add fuel to the fire.
