This stuff will pay off in the long run

Manning covers the game plan. He shows videotape. He talks about what he looks for on the tape and in the game. He breaks it all down for the younger players.

“You aren’t around the coaches where if you ask a lot of questions you make it seem like you don’t know everything,” said James, an undrafted rookie who has scored six touchdowns. “Peyton will go over every detail with you. That has helped us young guys out tremendously. I don’t know how much I would know the offense if it wasn’t for those meetings.”

Manning takes it all in, too. He has noticed something.

“I’m at least 14 years older than everybody in the room,” said the 13-year veteran.
