This week’s top performance by a professional athlete from Florida State comes from one of the more veteran Seminoles in the National Football League. The Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week for the week of November 3rd through the 9th goes to San Francisco 49ers’ wide receiver Anquan Boldin.
After a slow start to the 2014 season, Boldin has got things going of late. In Sunday’s 27-24 overtime victory over the New Orleans Saints, Boldin recorded six receptions for a game-high 95 yards receiving and a touchdown.
Boldin’s touchdown late in the second quarter gave the 49ers a 21-10 lead and was a big reason why San Francisco was able to outlast the Saints in a critical match-up of 4-4 teams.
At 34 years old, Boldin leads the 49ers with 635 yards receiving on the season and is on pace for his seventh 1,000-yard campaign in 12 NFL seasons. Boldin and San Francisco will be back in action against the New York Giants on Sunday.
