We’re a quarter of the way through the NFL regular season and there are a number of early disappointments and pleasant surprises. One of the early surprises are the Atlanta Falcons and a big reason why is a second-year running back from Florida State.

Devonta Freeman is the Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week for the second straight week. Freeman earns honors for the week of September 28th through October 4th for his performance against the Houston Texans on Sunday.

In a 48-21 Atlanta victory, Freeman accounted for 149 yards of offense and three touchdowns. Freeman rushed for 68 yards and three scores on 14 carries, but also recorded five receptions for 81 yards in the win.

Freeman has now scored three touchdowns in consecutive weeks and leads the NFL in that category with seven total for the year. Freeman is also on pace to rush for more than 1,000 yards this season.
