Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week: Devonta Freeman

As the NFL season nears its midway point, one former Florida State running back continues to set the league on fire. Atlanta Falcons’ running back Devonta Freeman has an NFL-high 10 touchdowns and is the Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week for the fourth straight week.

Freeman earns the honor for the week of October 12th through the 18th after accounting for 156 yards of offense and two touchdowns in a 31-21 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Thursday night.

Freeman hit the 100-yard rushing mark for the third time in four games Thursday, going for 100 yards and a touchdown on just 13 carries. Freeman also caught eight passes from quarterback Matt Ryan for 56 yards and a score.

On the year, Freeman has more than 800 yards from scrimmage. Throughout the league, only Houston Texans’ wide receiver De’Andre Hopkins has more than 700 yards.

Lawrence Timmons, LB Pittsburgh Steelers (NFL)
In two games this week for the Pittsburgh Steelers, linebacker Lawrence Timmons totaled 14 tackles, two for loss and an interception in a pair of Steeler victories.
