Most Florida State fans are excited for the start of the 2015 college football season, but this past week was a big one for former FSU athletes now playing professionally. Clevan Thomas helped the San Jose SaberCats win the Arena Bowl, but the top performance from a former Seminole came on the golf course.
Kris Tamulis is the Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week for the week of August 24th through the 30th after winning her first LPGA Tour event in Prattville, Alabama over the weekend.
Entering her 186th career tournament, Tamulis had just six career top-10 finishes. At the Yokohama Tire Classic, Tamulis shot -17 to beat both Yani Tseng and Austin Ernst by one stroke.
Tamulis had previously failed to make the cut in four of six tournaments. Prior to collecting the win on Sunday, Tamulis had never finished higher than fourth in any tournament.
