Baseball season for Florida State has been over for more than two weeks, but for former FSU players competing professionally, the season is just at its midway point.
The Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week for the week of June 15th through the 21st is minor league first baseman Marcus Davis. Davis hit .400 this week for the Lake Elsinore Storm of the California League.
In six games this week for the San Diego Padres’ Class-A Advanced affiliate, Davis went 8-for-20 with two home runs, eight RBIs and five runs scored. Davis homered and drove in three runs on Sunday in a 7-5 win over the Lancaster Jethawks.
For the season, Davis is hitting .274 with 37 runs scored and 36 RBIs — ranking in the top 3 for Lake Elsinore in each category.

Clevan Thomas had two tackles and an interception in the San Jose SaberCats’ 63-31 victory over the Las Vegas Outlaws on Sunday.
