This week’s Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week goes to St. Louis Cardinals’ relief pitcher Randy Choate. Choate earns honors for his performance for the week of April 7th through the 13th.
The 38-year-old left-handed specialist pitched three scoreless innings this week, allowing just one hit. Choate earned a hold for throwing a perfect seventh inning in Tuesday’s 7-5 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.
With his solid week, the Florida State alum lowered his ERA to a stellar 2.25 on the season and has been the Cardinals’ best pitcher out of the bullpen.
