While many Florida State fans anxiously awaited the NFL debut of former Seminole quarterback Jameis Winston on Sunday, another FSU rookie had a better day and helped his team pick up a victory.
The Professio”Nole” Athlete for the Week of September 7th through the 13th goes to Buffalo Bills’ rookie cornerback Ronald Darby for his performance in a 27-14 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
In Darby’s NFL debut, the cover corner finished with six tackles, two passes defended and an interception he returned 27 yards off one of the league’s best quarterbacks in Andrew Luck. Darby’s interception would lead to a first quarter touchdown as the Bills scored first and never looked back.
Darby will look to be tested again on Sunday as Buffalo hosts Tom Brady and the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots.
