While the week brought about the end of the season for Arena Football League stars from Florida State like Clevan Thomas and Greg Carr, football practice began at Florida State and preseason action got underway for former FSU stars in the NFL. This week’s top professional performer from Florida State goes to San Francisco 49ers’ defensive end Cornellius “Tank” Carradine.
Carradine is the Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week for the week of August 4th through the 10th for his effort on Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens. Though the contest resulted in a 23-3 loss for the 49ers, Carradine finished the evening with eight tackles and a sack.
A second-year player, Carradine did not see the field last season due to a knee injury suffered late during his senior season at Florida State. Carradine finished with 11 sacks as a senior for the Seminoles and made the most of his first taste of NFL action on Thursday night. Carradine and the 49ers will play their second game of the preseason on Sunday against the Denver Broncos.
