It’s a quiet time of year for former Florida State athletes playing professional sports, but a young golfer who spent his college days in Tallahassee is really beginning to make a name for himself.
The Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week for the week of February 22nd through March 1st is 21-year-old Daniel Berger. Play at the PGA’s Honda Classic was suspended on Sunday, but Berger is in line for his third top 10 finish in four tournaments.
As play was suspended in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida on Sunday, Berger sat in fourth place at -3 and just four shots off the lead. A finish of better than 10th would be the highest of Berger’s young PGA career.
The former Seminole finished 10th this year at both the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
