After much all the build up on where former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor would land in the NFL Supplemental Draft, there is something fitting about the very talented athlete calling Oakland home.

The Raiders, reaching like they have always been known to, selected Pryor in the third round of the Supplemental draft today. Rumor had been swirling that Pryor’s stock had climbed due to a solid 40 speed, and now he could be thrown right into the mix — or mess that is the quarterback position for the Raiders.

Pryor will have to sit out the first five games of the season, but could be thrown right into playing time if Jason Campbell, Kyle Boller or Trent Edwards can’t get the job done.

Sometimes it pays off being fast, that is if you don’t mind wearing black and silver.

Pryor travels to southern California where he will team up with former Buckeye cornerback Chimdi Chekwa, who was selected by Al Davis and company in the fourth round of this year’s NFL Draft.

The Raiders are now without their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round pick for next season. If a player is picked in a specific round of the draft, that team selecting must give up that pick in the following year’s draft.

For perspective, Ryan Mallet was selected in the third round.

Chekwa provides some depth at the corner position and could see some playing time right away. He also brings some maturity to the Raiders, and could serve as a solid mentor for Pryor as he gets thrown into the fire during the 2011 season.

Pryor’s first game he will be eligible for will be against the Cleveland Browns during week 6 of the NFL season.

According to a report by ESPN.com NFL reporter John Clayton, the Raiders are looking to use Pryor more as a receiver than a quarterback. Oh boy, not things are starting to fit perfectly.

Pryor stated late last week after his open workout for 17 NFL scouts that he would be willing to play another position at the next  level.

According to the rookie wage scale, TP could earl up to two million dollars over the next two years, including a nearly $600,000 signing bonus.

Pryor’s agent Drew Rosenhaus has stated that he hopes that a deal is done by tonight.

According to a Cleveland Plain Dealer article written by Doug Lesmerises, the interest in Pryor at least goes back to June, when the Raiders contacted Pryor’s quarterbacks coach to get his thoughts on the quarterback.
