What everyone is talking about
The Blackhawks squared off with the Kings for the first time since they met in the Western Conference Finals last year. This should definitely be appointment viewing for anyone who loves hockey, as the Kings and Blackhawks have proven to be the best teams in the West for the last several years. This year, I it’s Chicago’s turn to win the Cup. Last night, it was also Chicago’s turn to win the game. ESPN, Fox, Sports Illustrated.
Scoreboard
New York Rangers 5, Philadelphia 2 – The Rangers swept a home-home with the Flyers, but a total of 8 -2. That’s exerting dominance.
Buffalo 4, Montreal 3 (SO) – BUFFALO TOOK A HOME AND HOME AGAINST THE CANADIENS WHAT IN THE WORLD….. ASAS
Toronto 6, Washington 2 – The Maple Leafs are nothing if not inconsistent.
Tampa Bay 4, Ottawa 1 – Tampa picked up steam as the game went on, ultimately scoring 3 in the 3rd.
New York Islanders 3, New Jersey 1 – The Niederreiter – Clutterbuck trade seemed to be tilted heavily in Minnesoa’s favor, but Clutterbuck scored in this one, so maybe not.
Pittsburgh 3, Carolina 2 – The Hurricanes are so bad that Connor McDavid might just quit hockey to avoid getting drafted by Carolina.
St. Louis 3, Minnesota 2 (SO) – This is Minnesota’s first loss in a game that didn’t end in regulation, which is nice. ASAS.
Nashville 2, Columbus 1 – In a sea of mediocrity, there skate the Nashville Predators, completely owning it.
Colorado 5, Dallas 2 – LOOK AT US WE’RE STILL IMPORTANT say the Stars and Avalanche, who are wrong.
Chicago 4, Los Angeles 1 – Hey, has anyone ever figured out why in commercials athletes always slam their Gatorade bottles down so far that half of it sloshes out? Is it because it tastes like orange syrup, and that’s an effective way to not drink all of it?
Calgary 3, Arizona 0 – Calgary won the game, but they still have to go back to Calgary.
San Jose 6, Anaheim 4 – The Ducks could have made a push towards the highest point total in the league, but those darn Preds grabbed that instead.

“Whew, that was tough. We’ve been working our tails off for this one,” said Avalanche forward Matt Duchene after the game. “I’m just happy to have been able to do what we’ve been training for so long and for so had to do. We did it, everyone. We beat the Dallas Stars. Now, I think we’re all just going to head for home, decompress and enjoy the Holiday season.”
“Wait what’s that? We still have 58 more games left?” Duchene said after being informed of the schedule. He left the locker room, clearly downtrodden.
