What everyone is talking about
I might nnot be doing this long. See, the Minnesota Wild are plummeting to earth, and living in St Paul, I am definitely in the impact zone. ESPN, Sports Illustrated.
In rivalry news, the Islanders and Rangers played last night. It’s the strange situation in which both New York teams are actually pretty good. There was actually some gravity to the Islanders’ win last night.  NBC, NHL.com

Scoreboard
Boston 4, Tampa Bay 3 -Don’t mind the Lightning, they ar just taking a couple of nights off.

Detroit 3, Buffalo 1 – For some reason, the Dominik Hasek tribute last night didn’t capture the hearts of as many people as the Teemu Selanne one a few nights ago. It’s because everyone but the Sedins loves Finland.

Carolina 3, Colorado 2 (SO) – Now that I have written a post mocking Carolina’s turnaround, it is inevitable that their record will finish better than the Wild’s. ASAS

New York Islanders 3, New York Rangers 0  – The Islanders are well on their way to a President’s Trophy curse if they keep this up.

Pittsburgh 7, Minnesota 2 – It would be one thing if the Wild weren’t supposed to be good, but ugh.

St. Louis 4, Edmonton 2 – The Blues are now realizing that they should put forth an effort, even versus the worst teams.

Nashville 5, Vancouver 1 – If the season ended today, this would be a first round pairing. Take THAT realignment.

Winnipeg 8, Florida 2 – “We liked you better in Atlanta” – Florida Panthers, probably.

Dallas 5, Ottawa 4 – Jason Spezza, for those wonder, won some face offs, but didn’t really do anything beyond that.

San Jose 3, Arizona 2 – Arizona probably outplayed the Sharks by a little bit, but the Coyotes are pretty bad, so ultimately, justice will be served.
