Puck Dumps 12/12/14

What everyone is talking about
Zdeno Chara surprised me by returning to the ice last night. I had speculated that there was a chance he might have a tough time ever making it back, but bam, there he is. Of course, there is a finite number of superstars that can be playing in the NHL at any given time, so Jonathan Toews was injured in this one. In the end, the team that lost their star won the game and are still super amazing. ESPN, NBC, Fox, Sports Illustrated, SportsNet, NHL.com

Scoreboard
Columbus 3, Washington 2 (OT) – Nick Foligno scored twice and then ran for state senate.

Buffalo 4, Calgary 3 – Oof. Calgary’s regression has begun.

Chicago 3, Boston 2 – Caught the end of this game. Scott Darling celebrated like he just won the Cup.

Philadelphia 4, New Jersey 1 – Good. You two just play together and nobody has to go to Newark or Philadelphia. That’s nice.

Los Angeles 5, Ottawa 3 – New coach, same team.

Tampa Bay 2, Carolina 1 – This was a hell of a game, huh?

St. Louis 6, New York Islanders 3 – The Islanders spirit has been completely shattered.

Nashville 5, Arizona 1 – Nashville asserts their dominance over a lesser opponent. This is bullying.

Colorado 4, Winnipeg 3 (SO) – Calvin Pickard started in net for the Avs, continuing the rich tradition of goaltenders in Colorado.

San Jose 2, Minnesota 1 – San Jose will almost certainly lose their next game. That’s what they do.

Tweet of the Moment

Fixtures around the arena have a chance to make the three stars list during Carolina games, because the Hurricanes are bad.
