What everyone is talking about
If you joined us last night, you no doubt saw that the Islanders beat the Blackhawks. It may not surprise you to find that less than 12 hours later, that’s what many people still have on their mind. ESPN, Sports Illustrated, NHL.com.
That being said, there was another game that captured the heart of a nation last night. That nation was Canada. The game was the Maple Leafs victory over the Red Wings. SportsNet, CBC, TSN.

Scoreboard
Ottawa 3, Boston 2 (SO) – The Senators have completely turned their season around, is a judgment I will make after a few games with a new coach. ASAS

Philadelphia 5, Carolina 1 – This is the bottom of the barrel, Carolina.

Buffalo 4, Florida 3 (OT) – #FloridagoestoOT.

Toronto 4, Detroit 1 – This actually was a good game. Proud of you, YYZ

New York Islanders 3, Chicago 2 – In case you hadn’t heard.

Washington 4, Tampa Bay 2 – Nicklas Backstrom had a natural hat trick to score the first 3 goals of the game.

Columbus 4, Pittsburgh 3 (SO) – The Pens were probably just so broken at beating the Flames Friday night that they couldn’t keep up with, uh, the Blue Jackets. ASAS

Anaheim 4, Winnipeg 1 – Winnipeg scored the first goal of the game, but I think we all knew how this would end.

Minnesota 4, Arizona 3 (SO) – Hockey in Arizona that ends in a shootout! By golly, there is so much to hate about this game I don’t know where to start. ASAS

Dallas 4, New Jersey 3 – Shawn Horcoff scored the game winner. Yes, THAT Shawn Horcoff.

St. Louis 3, Colorado 2 (OT) – This game was at the Pepsi Center, which explains why the Blues didn’t win in regulation by 12.

New York Rangers 5, Vancouver 1 – Fun fact: The only NHL games they cover in Norway are Rangers games, because of Mats Zuccarello. He scored twice. Norge!

San Jose 2, Nashville 0 – Tomas Hertl scored early, and that’s all the Sharks needed. So both teams stopped playing and got ice cream.
