Puck Dumps 12/22/14

What everyone is talking about
Philadelphia goalie Rob Zepp made a debut and won all on the same night. He was the oldest goalie to win his debut since 1926. Rob Zepp is 33 years old. I have 2 years left to make it in the NHL. Sports Illustrated, SportsNet

Scoreboard
Philadelphia 4, Winnipeg 3 (OT) – It was even an OT winner, not some cheap BS shootout (which the NHL didn’t have when Zepp was drafted)

Boston 4, Buffalo 3 (OT) – It’s sad how fledgeling little improvements can be snuffed out so swiftly.

New York Rangers 1, Carolina 0 – The Rangers scored early, then left the Hurricanes to shoot at an open net for 55 minutes, without success.

Chicago 4, Toronto 0 – The Maple Leafs inability to beat good teams makes me feel comfortable, like the world isn’t changing as fast as I thought.

Colorado 2, Detroit 1 (SO) – Historic rivals from before Detroit ran away scared. If either team was good, they could play each other for a Cup someday. It won’t be this year. ASAS.

Dallas 6, Edmonton 5 (SO) – 10 goals in regulation, and you couldn’t get a single damn one in overtime? ASAS

Tweet of the moment

I appreciate any team working with charitable organizations, especially during the holidays, and I salute the Capitals for this endeavor. For those unfamiliar with 50/50 raffles, basically, it has something to do with wagering on whether or not Ovechkin has trimmed his unibrow.
