What everyone is talking about
Holy butt, Marty Brodeur is back and playing hockey. He joined the St. Louis Blues, which is super weird, who lost to the Nashville Predators in his St. Louis debut. That Nashville has a team and they are also pretty good also happen to be things that are super weird too. NBC, Yahoo, Sports Illustrated, Sporting News, NHL.com
Scoreboard
Vancouver 3, Pittsburgh 0 – The Sedins are back! Terrifying for all. So long, Finland.
Washington 2, Carolina 1 – Alexander Semin had his revenge! He scored for Carolina! Of course, the Caps were just completely indifferent.
Detroit 5, Dallas 2 – Darren Helm, who has played since the 70s, scored twice as Detroit won easily.
New York Islanders 2, Ottawa 1 – Brock Nelson is such a cool name. Casey Cizikas…. not so much.
Tampa Bay 5, Buffalo 0 -Not a joke: Zemgus Girgensens is the leading vote getter for the all star game.
Columbus 4, Florida 3 (SO) – Once again, Florida is giving us so much hockey that we do not want.
New Jersey 5, Toronto 3 – Wow, New Jersey with 5 goals. Marty was weighing them down this whole time!
Nashville 4, St. Louis 3 – Mike Ribeiro is probably just as unpleasant in Nashville as he’s been elsewhere, it’s just that nobody cares.
Calgary 4, Colorado 3 (OT) – I can live with a resurgent Flames team, especially now that they aren’t in the same division as Minnesota.
Los Angeles 4, Arizona 0 – It’s pretty nice that last night went according to script. Nothing weird about this game at all, except that it was Martin Jones in net for the Kings.
San Jose 7, Boston 4 – Tyler Kennedy and Joe Pavelski had 2 goals apiece. San Jose is on pace for a painful first round exit once again..
