What everyone is talking about
Late dumps are fun dumps. You get a healthy dose of real time stories that a lot of outlets take the time to cover. For example, this evening, we have NBC and Yahoo lauding Marty Brodeur for winning his first game as a Blue (still weird), but in Canada, they are talking about the two Canadian teams playing one another, which is as exciting as it gets for CBC and TSN.
Scoreboard
(all scores from 12/5)
Anaheim 5, Minnesota 4 – The Wild actually scored on the power play and were leading in the 3rd period, but Anaheim is simply the worst and had to ruin everything.
Winnipeg 6, Colorado 2 – I would have to double check, but this is probably the first time Winnipeg has scored more than 4 goals since they moved back to Canada.
Chicago 4 Montreal 3 – I think the hype train is juuuuust about running out of steam after this western road trip for the Habs.

Dearest Samantha,
After a long battle with the Yankee agressors, the regiment known as the Sabres of Buffalo, we have summoned our courage and distributed a through lashing to our enemy! The Floridian Panther-os claim victory most grand! In honor of valour upon the frozen battlefield, I have been ascribed the “first star” of which I will affix to overcoat and wear with a justly pride. The battle rageth on, my love, and we must prepare for henceward combat. Enclosed is a photograph of myself in dress uniform. Give love to mother.
The South will never die
