Sacramento Kings guard Tyreke Evans has been spending his offseason in sunny southern California.  And along with numerous NBA stars (LeBron James, Kevin Durant, James Harden to name a few), he’s showcased his hoop talents in Los Angeles’ famed Drew League.

“It’s a great league,” Evans told Cowbell Kingdom.  “It’s good to stay in shape and you know, just to get up and down the court.”

Despite playing in perhaps the west coast’s top summer league, Evans was expected to suit up for Washington D.C.’s Goodman League in next week’s clash against Drew.   The exhibition contest, billed Capital Punishment, takes place Saturday, August 20th at Trinity College in our nation’s capital and pits the top east and west coast talent against each other.

Fellow Kings DeMarcus Cousins, Donté Greene and Pooh Jeter are expected to play.  However, Evans is not participating due to availability issues.

Evans is our guest this week on the Cowbell Kingdom podcast.  Tune-in tomorrow to hear the Kings guard’s thoughts on recovering from last season’s foot injuries, playing in the Philippines and working out with Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook.
