Quick recap today. Bruins needed to right the ship after two very subpar outings against the Ducks and Kings. And that's what they got. They went back to basics. They played physical. Played simple. Minus a few flashes, the game was pretty boring. AKA, Bruins Hockey. And it got the win.
The defense was still a little sloppy in spots, but overall it was a bit of improvement, especially when you consider no Seidenberg and no Boychuk. Tuukka Rask was also stellar in net. After a string of .800(ish and below) SV% games, he stopped everything that came at him. Rask leads the league in shutouts (5)
We wanted Eriksson and Soderberg on a line together and bam, we got it. Thanks, Claude. And it proved to be the difference maker in the game. The Swedish Connection hooked up for the lone goal in the game. Welcome back, Loui.
Here's a closer look at Soderberg's game-winning goal.
Boom. Suck it, San Jose.
