Catcher Mike Rivera cleared waivers and will head to Nashville…nice to keep him in the organization for next year, once Damian Miller is gone. Grant Balfour was also sent down…he may or may not accept the assignment…either way, he gets a $100k buyout when the Crew cancel his contract…nice. This means Greg Aquino and Jose Capellan are fighting for the last bullpen spot…each has an option remaining; Vinny Rottino and Tony Gwynn, Jr. are battling for the last position spot…my guess is that it will be Aquino and Rottino…which makes more sense, as Rottino is more versatile and Aquino has better numbers of late.
