Quincy Miller gets a second 10-day contract

The Kings have extended Quincy Miller’s stay in Sacramento for a bit longer.  After putting up monster numbers with the Reno Bighorns, the 22-year-old forward was called up to join the Kings on Jan. 17 via 10-day contract.  Today, he received a vote of confidence along with another 10 days to prove he is NBA-ready.

Miller has seen action in two games with the Kings, averaging seven points and four rebounds in 20 minutes per game.  Most of those numbers came in last Friday’s loss to the Golden State Warriors when Miller scored 13 points, grabbed six rebounds, blocked two shots and added a pair of steals in 34 minutes of action.

The lanky forward out of Baylor University is active and versatile.  At 6-foot-10, 220 pounds, he has the ability to play both forward positions in the Kings’ current system.  After his second 10-day contract expires, the Kings must decide on whether to sign him for the remainder of the season or allow him to leave as a free agent.  If Miller goes unclaimed by another NBA team and he wants to return to the D-League, his rights are still owned by the Reno Bighorns.
