Gamecocks offensive lineman Quintin Richardson made it public today that he will be taking his services to Hampton University. He is a junior so should get plenty of reps in the future after a “up and down” career at USC.
A four-star recruit from Spring Valley High School, Richardson struggled at USC for several reasons from a knee injury his senior year of high school that limited his beginnings at USC to being stabbed multiple times by a high-school classmate before he offically began at USC.
2010 was also difficult. Richardson tore a tendon in his chest while lifting weights during the preseason and needed surgery. He was to miss this upcoming season. Then he had an incident with his girlfriend, charges that were dropped by both parties but had a team imposed suspension hanging over his head when this annoucement was made.
He played 21 games at USC and started five.
Best of luck to him in his next chapter of life.
